Increasing agribusinesses capacities to absorb investments grants and raising awareness on a range of financing options are key for agro enterprises growth and improvement of agricultural products quality in the market.

In the framework of theEU-funded IPA Cross-Borderproject on ‘Standards and Certification of Agricultural Products, Capacity Building in Fundraising and Marketing Strategies in Supporting Economic Growth and Agribusiness Trade’, four agribusinesses in Peshkopi were assisted in the application process from project’s staff and were successfully awarded with a total of €283K investments grants under national scheme Programme.

Grants will facilitate agriculture infrastructure investments of €588K value for all four assisted beneficiaries. Dashurie Zerja (Jufka and other artisanal food production), Sali Vrenezi (Livestock Farm), Shemsi Ngota (Dairy production) and Julian Hupi (Agro tourism – Guesthouse), were successfully awarded from AZHBR selection procedure.

Agribusinesses assisted from the Project, were given the opportunity to grow their business operations and significantly increase sales and revenues, contributing also directly to area social development. Moreover, it is worth mentioning that for the first time agribusinesses in this area are awarded from such financing schemes.

Agro tourism – Guesthouse, Julian Hupi’s agribusiness  

Project technical team is supporting farmers and agribusinesses in Peshkopi and Debar with tailored technical assistance and advanced business plans. In addition, the Project is raising awareness on alternative financing opportunities through informative campaigns on national and international fund schemes including IPARD Programme, while connecting agribusinesses and farmers with grant investment opportunities and access to finance.
